Sustainable Health
Are you stirred by the way some communities are more damaged than others by trauma, by epidemics and pandemics? Are you troubled by the inequality in the care they receive? Are you a nurse, social worker, educator, coach, counselor or therapist sensitive to how racial injustice impacts health along with ecological grief and climate crisis? Have you always known that health was multi-dimensional, encompassing emotion, lineage, relationship and something else, something indiscernible? Is this what has motivated you to explore outside the box in your healing profession and life?
Inspired by questions like these, the Sustainable Health initiative arises from Dr. Stephanie Mines’ awareness of the devastating health impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations. The Sustainable Health initiative trains Sustainable Health practitioners and cultivates the Cultural Library of Sustainable Health Resources.
A Sustainable Health Practitioner is culturally sensitive and educated in effective, time-tested resources. She provides compassionate care through skills that are easily transmitted to others. These resources offer symptomatic relief, significantly decrease stress levels and speed recovery from illness. The Sustainable Health Practitioner designs appropriate treatment delivery and educational follow-through.
The Cultural Library of Sustainable Health Resources is a digital database organized to meet the specific health consequences of adversity and climate change such as respiratory distress, panic, cardiovascular conditions, prenatal care, birth and pediatrics.
